Church of the Ascension

Ceremonies: Protestant Blessing Receptions: No Capacity: 120 Boat access: Yes Accommodation: No

The Church of Ascension in Cadenabbia was built in 1891, and is part of the Anglican Church, welcoming all Christian faiths.

Services are officiated by visiting priests from the Chaplain of All Saints in Milan.

The uniquely beautiful interior dates from 1927, with it’s stensilled wall designs. Ornate stained glass windows are south facing and capture and colour the Italian sun in order to give luminescence to the Church interior. Gold mosaic and stone work coupled with the dramatic frescoes create a rich and warm environment.

The natural acoustics of the Church, together with it’s pipe organ create a perfect setting for a ceremony with an accompaniment. Visiting Priests take time to get to know couples prior to their arrival in Italy, and attentively guide them on the intricacies of the blessing.

The Church can accommodate up to 120 people, but with its warm atmosphere it can work equally well for small groups.

Thank you for creating a wedding for us that was exactly how we dreamt it would be.
